As a parent/carer/support person to a young person, it’s easy to forget your own needs. There are a wide range of organisations and services offering assistance and resources to support you at various stages of your journey as a parent.
Anglicare
Services range from family violence counselling to parent education and help caring for children with disabilities. Parentzone is a free service providing support to parents through information and group work (e.g. newsletters, resource library, parenting programs, facilitator training).

Association for Children with a Disability
An information, support and advocacy organisation for children with a disability and their families, in Victoria. The organisation is run by parents of children with a disability.

Australian Camp Connect Association
Conducts life impacting programs for fathers and their children through the use of education, support and activities.

Brotherhood of St. Laurence
Assists families through services in child care, playgroups, parent support and community strengthening. BSL also conducts research to help develop policy options for government in areas such as education and family support. In the inner north our services are based in Fitzroy at our Napier Street Child and Family Resource Centre and at our Ecumenical Migration Centre.

Council of Single Mothers and their Children
A statewide community organisation run for and by single mothers and their children. They provide telephone support and counselling, referral, advice and emergency relief to single mothers throughout Victoria.

Drummond Street Relationship Centre
Provides child and family relationship counselling and runs groups for parents, children; and young people.

ParentLine
A confidential telephone information, advice and referral service for parents of children of all ages. Professionally trained parenting advisers can help parents with a range of problems and everyday questions about parenting issues. The service is staffed Monday to Friday 8.00am to 12.00 midnight and Saturday/Sunday 10.00am to 10.00pm.
