The Moreland L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program will provide 150 young Learner Drivers (aged 16 - 21 years of age) who have significant barriers such as no access to a vehicle, significant parent/adults or finances with the opportunity to achieve the compulsory 120 hours of supervised driving (as prescribed by the Graduated Licencing System). Volunteer Mentors and young Learner Drivers access a program vehicle for one hour per week, providing the Learner Drivers with practical on road driving experience with a fully licenced Volunteer Mentor who will supervise. (Vehicle and all expenses related to the program are covered by L2P). Both Volunteer Mentors and Learner Drivers are required to undergo a screening process in order to become involved in the program.
