StraighTalk

The 'Straightalk' program is an informal and fun experience where secondary school students have the opportunity to talk to you and the other guests about the highs and lows you have experienced working in your respective trade or profession and what you did to get where you are today.

Small group discussions give students the opportunity to learn about the education, work and life experiences of guests employed in the local and wider community. These conversations can extend students’ knowledge of pathway and employment options available in the community.

Partners involved: Straightalk was a project between, The Smith Family, the Inner Northern LLEN and Collingwood College. The employer partners that provided speakers include Manufacturing and Engineering Skills Advisory Board, Holden, Richmond Rotary, The Grand Hyatt, Quantas and the City of Melbourne.
