The annual Northern Careers and Employment Expo was established by the region’s careers teachers to help guide students with their future career choices. Supported by a number of TAFEs, universities, employers and private training organisations throughout the region, this year’s Expo was held at Epping Plaza on Tuesday, 16th August.

The focus of the Expo is to provide information on general career and employment opportunities and each year a diverse range of students, parents and families participate, all looking for the best way to achieve their long-term and short-term career development goals, and this year was no exception. With over 65 exhibitors there was plentiful information available on:

  • apprenticeships and traineeships

    NCEE

  • advice from Job Services providers
  • advice from local industry
  • course information from Universities/TAFE’s in the region

The format of the event was updated for 2011 and it is anticipated that by moving the event around the region, and by utilising a variety of public spaces, the event exposure and accessibility for students, parents and community will be greatly improved.

The Northern Careers and Employment Expo is a free event sponsored by 14 organisations and programs spanning local, state and federal government departments, as well as major education and training providers in the region. The Inner Northern LLEN wishes to gratefully acknowledge the support provided by Moreland City Council and the City of Darebin for this event.
