Darebin Youth Commitment

The Darebin Youth Commitment (DYC) is an all of community approach to improving access and opportunity in education, training and employment for all young people living in the City of Darebin. It is a strategic network of Darebin schools, community organisations, government agencies and industry partners committed to working collegiately.

The focus of the Darebin Youth Commitment in 2012 will be to develop the Community Team.

In 2011 the Leadership Group spent a considerable amount of time in developing the DYC framework and “Terms of Reference”.  This will provide the well grounded basis for the Community Team to begin the process of working on the Strategic Action Plan (SAP) from the identified key priority areas.

Priority actions from SAP will include:

  • Improve linkages between all stakeholders in youth education and engagement
  • Early Intervention and prevention
  • Develop communication plan
  • Employment pathways through business engagement
  • Access and equity
